Hungarian Virtuoso featuring Laszlo Berki primas and Alex Udvary cimbalom master

Laszlo Berki has been the lead violinist for the Hungarian National Folk Ensemble for over 20 years. He has performed all over the world with great acclaim. He has also been the leader of the 100-member Budapest Gipsy Band which he formed. On a trip to Chicago with the National Folk Ensemble, he met cimbalom player Alex Udvary. They decided to make a recording together. They chose a few members of the Ensemble to accompany them. The recording you hear was made without any rehearsal.

Alex Udvary is considered the premier cimbalom player in America. He has recorded with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene Ormandy, the Cleveland Orchestra under Lorin Marzel, as well as a number of recordings with his ensemble. He has been the soloist with more than twenty-five symphony orchestras. He performed for the Prime Minister of Hungary in Cleveland.
